What is the Church of the Brethren?
The Church of the Brethren began in 1708 in Schwarzenau, Germany and came to the US in 1723.
Brethren have a long tradition of “gathering around the Word.” Taking the New Testament as our guide, we discuss what Jesus did—and why. Then we try to pattern our own lives after his. We are a historic peace church and we have roots in Anabaptism and Pietism.
In other words, we gather to worship and Continue the Work of Jesus - Peacefully, Simply, Together.
